Schadenfreude Like A Muthaphukka

Remember back a month or so ago, I made mention of the TV workshops being advertised by former Big Brother B-show host (and current douchebag) Mike Goldman?

Heh. The idea that Mike Goldman would run a workshop where he'd advise people how to get into a TV career (AND expect it to be successful) STILL makes me giggle like a loon.

HAW HAW HAW!

Oh, LORDY. That's GREAT. A good laugh does a fella good...

You know, something doesn't quite make sense to me. Goldman has a long and storied track record of being a self-aggrandising schlong-huffer. That much is beyond dispute.

As such, wouldn't you have expected the guy to post SOMETHING on his blog, crowing about how WILDLY successful his workshops were? I mean, take a look for yourself- his blog is NOTHING but posts detailing every wondrous triumph of his perfect life, complete with pictures of him mingling with various famous people who always seem to have the "who the f--k are you?" look on their faces.

Yet here we are, a month or so after his workshops were supposed to have taken place, and they haven't rated a mention. No notices telling the clamouring fans that the classes are full, no pictures of his first batch of proteges, and no gushing write-ups about how his students are now making MILLIONS in the lucrative world of advertising voiceovers and reading scripts for those annoying recorded message things.

Nothing. Not a peep.

You don't think that they might have been cancelled due to an EMBARRASSING lack of interest, do you? You don't think that Goldman has now realised that the only people stupid enough to think that HE has any worthwhile knowledge to impart are thirteen-year-old girls (and Bree f-ing Amer, of course), do you?

Nahhhhh. COULDN'T be.

But even if Goldman's workshops weren't successful, he STILL had that Friday Night Download show to fall back on, right?

Uh oh...

After just two epsiodes, Mike Goldman's latest Channel 10 vehicle, Friday Night Download, has crashed.

Ten yesterday announced the internet clip show, which also featured Bree Amer and Ryan Fitzgerald, will be replaced by Canadian reality series Ice Road Truckers in the 7.30pm slot.

Heh. I know it is poor form to laugh at someone else's misfortune, but I just can't help it. The guy's a self-important cumstain who MASSIVELY overestimated his abilities. Just the type of person that I LOVE to see take a dive.

Oh well. I TRULY hope you enjoyed the ride, Mikey. And don't worry- I'm SURE that your bit of fluff won't care that you're not on TV anymore, and won't wake up wonfdering why the HELL she's letting a prattling old douchebag jump up and down on her. And I'm SURE there'll STILL be a market for inane dickheads and their shit-eating grins on national TV SOMEWHERE.

And I'm SURE that you'll one day fulfill your dream of hosting your own Letterman-style talk sh... *splutter*

BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Heh. Sorry- try as I might, I just COULDN'T get through that last one with a straight face...

You know, sometimes people don't see what is obvious. I'm sure his, uh, talents will serve him well, but the avenues he's driving them on are all wrong.

So unfair, I was really eager to see how those workshops went and I was really looking forward to the fresh talent they'd have fostered and I was even thinking of attending myself.

Goldman deserves his own show, but maybe something like HotDogs used to host, you know at 3:00 am where no one can see it.

I can't believe Friday Night Download wasn't a roaring success, like it's not as if people have easy access to the internet and You Tube and stuff. Can't work out what went wrong there.

I hate that mofo! And I was one of his biggest fans too.. Back in the early days when he was still cool.

Way too harsh Bullhorn!
I like the boy.
In the entertainment industry I guess you have to make a living where you can..and have fingers in several pies..whether they are successful or not is another story.
Now Take Rove..probably the most overated person on Australian tv along with his even unfunnier sidekick Peter Hellier..Even Hughesy's gone totally off since he left the ABC..used to love the glass house...and that moronic fifth grader show....pleeeaaase!Wonder if that show will spawn some future psychologically damaged kids when they actually give the WRONG answer.
Poor ole Rove had developed such an inflated ego that he actually thought he could make it in the US..they ate him up and spat him out...better to be a big fish in a small pond..etc etc...and while I'm on the "entertainment" groove what's with Ricki Lee popping up all over the place..now that is over exposure..literally.

Sue-

The guy has A talent. Singular.

He is a perfectly competent voiceover guy who happened to be local when Big Brother set up camp. He then offered to do the shitty jobs that no one else wanted, and wormed his way into a on-camera gig.

Not that there's any crime in that, of course. Good luck to him. Because he was so affable and humble, he was actually pretty well liked, which was the only reason why his on-camera role was expanded to something OTHER than the 2am stuff.

Then he started acting like a self-important, arrogant f-wit. For some unknown f-ing reason, he started thinking that he was actually a star, and developed the ego to match.

So f-him.

Kezza-

You know, I never actually watched that Download show, and I have no idea of its premise. Did they REALLY just show Youtubes and stuff?

REALLY?

I bet the hook was the witty repartee and humourous commentary of the Goldman and his pet f-wits, right?

And they wonder why it tanked, eh?

Luli-

Yep. I was never exactly a fan, but I had no real issue with him until his ego started bursting out. Then he started getting on my tits.

Mark my words: In two years time, the only way that Goldman's name will appear on national news sites is if he dies of a heroin overdose or something. He'll go back to being a voiceover guy, and nothing more.

Best of all, the name recognition he got from BB would have driven up his voiceover price over the past few years. You just KNOW that's a thing of the past.

He'll be reading radio ads and telephone hold messages in NO time.

Zelts-

I have to confess, I haven't watched anything featuring Rove (except once when he was on Leno) in years. Luckily, I have Foxtel, so I'm not forced to endure FTA TV.

But Rove thinking he could make it in the US is exactly the same dynamic as Goldman thinking he was a TV star. Both seriously overestimated their abilities.

But I have no beef with Ricki-Lee. She's not exactly my cup of tea, but at least she hasn't (yet) fallen into the trap of thinking that anorexia= attractive. So she gets points for that.
